Doka secures BIM certification

International formwork and scaffolding specialist Doka recently secured BS EN ISO 19650-2:2018 certification for BIM processes and management. Compliance with the standard demonstrates that Doka provides information in accordance with set processes and customer requirements using a structured format.

Pieter Strydom, UK senior engineer and BIM coordinator at Doka, said: “It took us about a year to obtain the Certificate of Conformity. During this time, a significant portion was spent developing and organising internal documentation for the process to be developed internally. It was time well spent, however, as conformity with the standard and achieving BSI’s much sought-after stamp of approval puts Doka among the forerunners of the formwork industry.”

Digital adoption for Scottish SMEs

Scotland’s Construction Leadership Forum (CLF) has set out its plans to drive digital adoption among Scottish SMEs. In the recently published Transformation Action Plan, the CLF states that it wants to review and gain consensus to proceed with delivering the actions set out in the digital strategy for SMEs by the end of the first quarter.

By the end of Q2, it wants to establish a one-stop shop digital skills hub that brings together content from multiple sources into one easily accessible area.

By the end of the year, the CLF wants to scope the opportunities for the digital strategy to enhance and support a culture of health and safety within the built environment.

Autodesk plans Payapps acquisition

Autodesk plans to acquire Payapps, the global provider of construction payment management solutions, for an unspecified sum. It expects the acquisition to complete in the second quarter of this year.

Autodesk said its customers “will benefit from leveraging technology that eases the burden of construction payment management in a process that is simpler, faster, and more efficient for all construction project stakeholders”.

Autodesk Construction Cloud and Payapps announced a collaboration and strategic alignment two years ago.

Women in BIM mentoring

Applications are now open for the Women in BIM Mentor Scheme 2024. The scheme, now in its fifth year, supports women in BIM and digital construction roles throughout the world, allowing WIB to nurture skills and offer support and guidance to help elevate their careers.

Heatherbrook Homes selects Zutec

Developer Litchford and its luxury housebuilder brand, Heatherbrook Homes, have selected Zutec’s quality management tools. Zutec has integrated quality assurance inspections, checklists, and snagging registers to align with Litchford’s internal processes. This will enable it to capture photographic evidence and raise any issues throughout the build to drive higher standards. Litchford’s subcontractors will also have access to the Zutec Field app.

Kope raises £5.5m for offsite push

Kope has raised £5.5m in seed funding to advance the development of its purpose-built offsite construction platform. Kope’s software enables companies to instantly digitally integrate prefabricated products and systems into their projects, saving time and effort when designing and pricing buildings. Among the funders are Autodesk and Saint-Gobain.
