Mace’s Matt Gough joins Neom
Matt Gough has relocated to Saudi Arabia and joined Neom as director of digital innovation for the design & construction sector. He was formerly director of innovation at Mace. Neom has made the headlines recently for its planned vertical city, The Line (image above).
In a LinkedIn post, Gough wrote: “The size of the capital projects being planned is not for the faint-hearted. But more importantly, the founding principles of nature preservation, carbon reduction and renewable energy underpin an approach that ensures this is approached responsibly, and sustainably. I’m here for acceleration. And I’m here for change.”
New head of digital engineering at HS2
James Daniel, formerly head of digital at Kier Highways, has become head of digital engineering at HS2. His career includes stints at Skanska, Aecom and Willmott Dixon. Daniel’s predecessor in the new role, Dr Sonia Zahiroddiny, has become the mega-project’s chief information officer (interim).

Major architectural practice Stride Treglown has adopted DocuPing to streamline its document issuing process. DocuPing helps keep control of issued documents with versioning, registers, automatic issuing, read receipts and full auditing. DocuPing integrates with Rapport3, the practice's costing solution.
“We were looking for a simple document issuing solution we could roll out to our staff quickly and with minimal training,” said Stephen Dolphin, head of business change at Stride Treglown.
Leading equipment rental specialist Sunbelt Rentals is to stock the Matterport Pro2 and Pro3 3D scanning cameras, plus the Axis motorised mount for smartphones. Stuart Nash, survey director at Sunbelt Rentals UK, said: “We are seeing increased demand for products and solutions that help businesses digitise and visualise projects, spaces and all types of environments, and this partnership with Matterport will help us to deliver on this growing demand.”
