BuildEco, in collaboration with Leeds Beckett University, is developing a diagnostic web-based platform that uses AI analytics and algorithms to assess and optimise existing building designs. It evaluates existing buildings to identify areas prone to dampness and mould growth, proposes retrofit plans and optimises designs to reduce mould risks and improve building safety and integrity.
The two innovations are among 120 projects awarded a share of £7m funding from the UK Research and Innovation Technology Missions Fund, delivered by the Innovate UK BridgeAI programme.
Galliford Try achieves PAS 20280 for carbon management
Galliford Try has been certified to PAS 2080:2023 (Designer/Constructor), the standard for carbon management in the built environment. It covers the design, construction, operation, use and end of life of new and existing assets with the aim of reducing costs and adapting to a low-carbon future.
The contractor published its own Net Zero Route Map last year.
TechCIOB eligible for CSCS cards
TechCIOB members are now eligible for the CSCS Professionally Qualified Persons card, Construction Management reports. CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on site have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do – helping to improve standards and safety in UK construction.
Elecosoft acquires PEMAC
Elecosoft has acquired PEMAC, a provider of cloud-based computerised maintenance management software.
“The acquisition complements Elecosoft’s ShireSystem CMMS, creating more comprehensive solutions for asset management across industries such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and manufacturing. Elecosoft’s customers will benefit from an expanded range of tools and new features, while PEMAC’s clients can also expect continuous improvements in technology and service,” said Elecosoft.
