HS2 Ltd is seeking five innovative SMEs to develop digital solutions for: supply chain management; risk management and decision-making; and information exchange and insights. This forms part of HS2’s fourth Innovation Accelerator programme.
At the end of four months in the programme, the firms will present their innovations to the project’s tier one suppliers, as well as investors and wider industry, to take forward for further development and potential deployment to deliver the railway. The deadline is 28 February.

Kier seeks 1,200 new recruits
Kier has launched a recruitment drive for more than 1,200 new staff. It wants “diverse new talent with skills and experience from a range of locations, sectors and backgrounds and is offering various entry points, including graduate, apprenticeship and Kickstart opportunities”.
Agacad launches Sandwich Panels software
Agacad has launched what it claims is the first BIM software for automating the design and documentation of full building envelopes with insulated sandwich panels in Autodesk Revit. The package is the latest addition to Agacad’s range of specialised framing add-ons for work with heavy timber, CLT, SIPS, ventilated facades and curtain walls and panels.

Hong Kong CIOB signs agreement with smart building alliance
GCR also revealed that the Hong Kong Hub of the Chartered Institute of Building has signed an agreement with the Hong Kong Alliance of Built Asset & Environment Information Management Associations, which is the Hong Kong Chapter of buildingSMART International.
TÜV SÜD offers training courses
TÜV SÜD’s Academy is offering training courses in BIM (including ISO 19650), CE & UKCA certification cyber security and data protection, and the Golden Thread and Building Safety Bill. “A mix of instructor-led workshops and e-learning courses will aim to maximise flexibility for how and where businesses want their people to learn,” the company said.
