Andrew Gamblen has joined 3D model viewing specialist Dalux as AEC specialist. He was digital platform solutions manager at Willmott Dixon’s Collida offshoot for two years. Before that, had a near-three-year stint as the contractor’s digital manager for the London and East region.
In his new role, Gamblen is working with Dalux’s central customer engagement team in Copenhagen, “to add value where I can in the business”, he told BIMplus. “That includes talking to prospective and existing clients and sharing my experience of implementation. I’ll also help to identify value in the product itself. It’s an incredibly wide-ranging role.”
He added: “I’ve always liked working collaboratively and sharing my knowledge. And post-pandemic I’ve been thinking about how I can help the industry digitise. The opportunity with Dalux is on a global scale: we’re operating in more than 25 countries.”
Asked what prompted the move from Willmott Dixon, Gamblen said: “I started off working as a subcontractor and while I was there, I worked for a structural engineering consultancy for a couple of years as well. I then moved to Willmott Dixon as a main contractor. So the last piece of the puzzle that I haven’t really worked on is the software side of things.
