Amey has acquired the assets and employees of Citi Logik, a specialist in mapping the movement of people via analysis of mobile network data.
Citi Logik’s technology takes raw mobile network data, maps it spatially and temporally and applies zoning. Citi Logik then applies machine learning algorithms to generate insights based on journeys, purpose, and transport mode.
The acquisition will allow Amey “to harness insights on travel patterns from anonymous mobile phone data, and support transport planners make better informed, evidence-based decisions”.
The Citi Logik team will form part of Amey Consulting’s advisory and analytics offering. The latter already uses data science for major clients, including Network Rail, National Highways and Transport for Wales.
