A 2D machine control system has been launched for SMEs. Unicontrol is presenting its technology as both a cost-effective solution for smaller contractors and a first step towards 3D machine control.
Unicontrol was purchased by laser positioning specialist Spectra Precision in August. Unicontrol’s 2D machine control integrates with Spectra’s lasers and laser receivers, providing instant feedback, and is accurate to ±mm. Real-time guidance, remote diagnostics and updates, and a built-in cut/fill display ensures the correct depth and slope is achieved every time, Unicontrol said.
Once a business has got to grips with the 2D technology, it can upgrade to 3D machine control by adding GNSS antennas.
